Physical demonstration of mental freedom
If you grasp your left hand with your right hand as tightly as you can, hold it for ten seconds, then let go and focus your attention solely on your right hand – as you let go, it feels light, free, unrestrained.
Do it again and this time imagine your left hand is your thoughts and your right hand is you no longer attached to and heavily identified with your thoughts – and let go.
The light feeling in your right hand is what it feels like when you no longer attach to and identify constantly with your thinking. The discomfort and tightness, perhaps even pain in your left hand depending on how tightly you grasped, represents stuckness.
The light feeling in your right hand represents peace, freedom, letting go and relaxation.
A physical demonstration of how you can feel when you let go of constant thought identification.
