Other outstanding roles include “Clarence” the short-sighted delivery man, prison inmate Fletcher in “Porridge” and Arkwright the stuttering store-keeper in “Open all Hours” co-starring David Jason as Granville.

Ronnie Barker had brilliant comic timing; he created comedy sketches which were not only highly original they were also harmless fun. He was a master of facial expressions often raising a smile without words.

Ronnie Barker was a genius wordsmith and a brilliantly funny man.
