In brief moments of floating time, you notice a bird, zoo animal or pet come and go – you don’t attach to the bird, zoo animal or pet. The moment comes and then passes. The moment visits you or you visit the moment and then it passes.

You notice a car, a train, a bus, a taxi – you don’t attach to them.

You notice the weather, sun, cloud, rain, light and dark – you don’t attach to them.

You notice food, a sandwich or a meal – you don’t attach to them.

You notice the sea, the wave, pebbles, sand, the tide – you don’t attach to them.

You notice sounds and silence – you don’t attach to them.

So why attach to a thought?

You could notice a thought come and go – you don’t need to attach to it. The thought is just a thought. The moment visits you or you visit the moment and then it passes.

Why attach to a thought?

You can let the thought drift the same way you let the moment drift. You get to choose your present moment thoughts and your thoughts shape your level of happiness now in this moment.

What thoughts are you choosing to notice?
What thoughts are you choosing to dwell on?
What thoughts can you choose to let go of?
What thoughts can you choose not to attach to?

Breaking the chains that anchor thoughts causing unhappiness allows space for thoughts that nurture happiness. Attachment is a choice.

Past thoughts have gone unless you recall them. You are only ever one thought away from choosing a better thought. The choice is available every moment of every day.

The power of thought is the beauty of choice. The beauty of choice is the choice of happiness.
